As initiator of the prize, which is supported by 25 newspapers, magazines and broadcasters, the Hamburg weekly newspaper, »Die Woche«, reported on the event. The first prize is worth DM 10,000 (5113 Euro). The second prize, worth DM 5,000, will go to the travelling exhibit, »Wer, wenn nicht wir?« (»If not us, then who?«). Further projects organized by school groups will be rewarded with DM 1,000 each.
