City Mine(d) is a production house for urban interventions, committed to the creation of cutting edge public artwork, the re-appropriation of public space and the development of new forms of urban citizenship. The initially Belgian NGO now has agencies in Brussels, Barcelona and London.

The objectives of the association are the realization and initiation of an urban movement, the realization and stimulation of urban projects, the organization and support enabling these initiatives, and the stimulation of a critical reflection with respect to the city.

The narrow mountain roads, that lead up to the former hunting lodge of Tito, are framed by thousands of people. They all have taken the Mayday as a cause for a trip into nature, lay easygoingly in the medium high grass or are barbecueing the meet on an open fire. Everything has its order in such an idyll like hundred years ago: The kids play ball, the women spread out blankets, the men drink beer.

Not only since "911" the security discourse became the hegemonial topic of the post office-modern society, by which from today all social affairs are organized. From Thatchers "There is NO alternative" over Giulianis "zero Tolerance" up to the fight against the globalization opponents: Security serves in each case as naturalized legitimaton of political decisions and national force excesses.

kinoki was founded in 1992 within the Ernst-Kirchweger-Haus as its homebase, as a project to create political cinema by showing movies and videos rarely seen in TV or regular motion picture theatres through setting series of subject and organizing open-air-shows.

ASA is an association which puts her concentration on PERFORMANCE ART. It started in the year 1978, when Boris Nieslony, head of ASA, began to organize meetings of different artist, independent organizers, artist-run-spaces-holders and organizers of alternative and parallel cultural projects.

MAIZ is an organization of and for female migrants. According to the principle of the self organization MAIZ works since 1994 amongst other things also with female migrants in sex industry, persons concerned with woman trafficing and juvenile migrants.

The HackLab concept has started to take off throughout Europe as a way of sharing knowledge and experimentation with media and technologies. As Free Software has become an organised movement, HackMeetings - gatherings of digital communities and countercultures - have happened with increasing regularity.

Escanda - whose name stands for 'Espacio Social Colectivo para la Autogestion, la Diversidad y la Autonomia' (Collective Social Space for Self-Organisation, Diversity and Autonomy) is situated in a small mountain town above the run- down village of Pola de Lena, some 20 kilometres south of Oviedo in northern Spain.

»Internet for everyone« – There is probably no other political demand which would find as many supporters as the slogan with which German Chancellor Gerhard Schröder in Autumn 1999 announced the introduction of measures to »overcome the digital divide in society«. On September 20th, 2001 in Berlin, representatives of the economy and the government, of universities and charitable institutions met to take stock of the situation at a congress called »Equal Opportunities on the Net«.
