What training does D-A-S-H offer in Germany?

Since 2001 D-A-S-H has offered four trainings each year for advanced users but also for beginners. This year the trainings will be re-launched with a new and improved concepts: we won't organise four central trainings, but we would like to design every training individually in co-operation with local or regional groups or initiatives in order to make sure that the needs of the participants of the training are really met and in order to give those groups interested the opportunity to also get involved in designing the concept of the training.

How about the contents and the concepts of the trainings?

Content and concepts are defined by those taking part in the trainings. If your group is interested in a D-A-S-H training you have to come to terms with the other members of your group or initiative about the issues you are interested in and want to discuss, and where exactly you need assistance. Then you have to decide about where you would like the training to take place, whether you'd prefer the training to take place in a conference centre where you'd also stay overnight or in the town where your group is based. Furthermore, you have to decide about whether you prefer spending your time working in groups or listening to lectures. You are, of course, more than welcome to contact us and ask for further information, assistance or advice. If you are interested, contact support@d-a-s-h.org

What are the contents of the European workshops?

The European workshops will be used to network and link already existing innovative and creative approaches of use of internet technologies in the field of initiative engagement against racism and xenophobia. Each of the six workshops is going to deal with different issues. The first workshop in May 2003 is going to be about open source technologies and content management, other workshops will focus on streaming media experiences and the possibilities of computer game based content management. The contents of the workshops are going to be defined by a European editorial team, who will have interviewed diverse European initiatives and groups about their focus and needs before they will make their decisions.

How much does the participation in the workshops cost?

The participation in the workshops is generelly free of charge. We are even able to reimburse you for your travelling expenses. In exchange the D-A-S-H team expects the participants to actively take part in the workshops and in their preparation via the mailinglist which will be set up some time before the workshops take place in order to prepare with the participants the workshop. That way we also hope to be able to guarantee that the needs of every participant will be met in the workshop and to be able to really turn the training into a "work" shop where new ideas and concepts are in the truest sense of the word "worked" out.
