Glocal heterotopias is an initiative raising from the Callús area, a catalan digital town close to Barcelona, Spain. The goal of the project is to promote and disseminate around the world projects that make us realise that other spaces or other world are possible. Projects that tell us about the heterotopic space as a tangent exit to the system. Projects that use the network for coordination purposes and such that this results in an actual answer in the physical world. Here there is space for any initiative involving digital towns, e-democracy, hacktivism, free software, tactical media, artivism, P2P, ... To include a project you just need to be accepted by one of the participants called "connectors". It is also possible for you to become a connector of other projects, so that the project network can be extended.

The emergence of the internet and other information technologies gave birth to new social and communicative activities. Cheap, decentralized and horizontal communication channels have been exploited by a wide spectrum of actors from antiglobalization activists and users of file-sharing networks to creative commons licensees and locative guerilla artists. As new media technologies have triggered various forms of activities, the New Left hopes about emancipatory social agency have also been resuscitated. In spite of the undeniable democratic potential inscribed in new information and communication technologies, there seems to be little agreement as to what consequences new media bring on existing structures of cultural, economic and political power.

Close your eyes and imagine being a proud internet user with a DSL connection. Now imagine being a videomaker: you enjoy your handy consumer camera and edit short videos from your laptop. Now imagine being someone who cares about having interesting films and videos to watch: wouldn't it be nice to be part of a network that gives you the chance to upload your video productions, share your visions and download video and films that you can't see anywhere else?

Since the weekend May 14th/15th, many internet users had to notice their inboxes were flooded with some rather unusual spam, carrying neofascist propaganda. Most of these spam mails are containing one or several links to web sites of the NPD, Germany's major radical right wing party, even though some mails also link to articles by the mainstream press, such as Der Spiegel, FAZ or Heise Online. The headers of the spam mails are forged, so one should not assume the sender of the spam mail to be related to the email adresses that appears - bounces show that also D-A-S-H addresses have been forged in order to send out neonazi spam.
