In June 2005 "Transacciones/Fadaiat" will take place for the second time in Tarifa / Tanger. As D-A-S-H is this time a cooperation partner on the event, we want to give you a short impression with this review of "Fadaiat 2004".

The monstrous Sacred Heart of Jesus statue has turned its back to the european continent, as if it wants to pay all attention to the sea. A fresh breeze is coming up, as every evening in Tarifa. A glaring red towboat of the coastguards, flanked by a speedboat of the Guardia Civil, is slowly appearing behind the holy statue, that is enthroning above the water on the very end of the breakwater wall in its sulcated robe. On the tow line of the two boats is a dinghy, that has obviously rousen the border guards. On board are about 50 passengers, whose trip has come to an end for now.

[image:191,right] “Knowledge is power and thus our most important weapon against racism and hate”. This is main the statement of the Flemish web portal Kif Kif. And this peaceful weapon is indispensable, because in spite of the hundreds of television discussions and the increasing problemizing of for example Islam in northern Europe, the knowledge about other cultures is very scarce. KifKif.be organizes informative, opinion making, educational and leisurely initiatives to fill this lack of knowledge.

[image:194,left]You don’t need many words to explain the function of Move your ass.tv. The Dutch media portal is exactly what it says. Encouraging young people to undertake action in making the world a better place. By informing, explaining and giving helpful tips. And they made the impossible possible by doing it in a really cool format. With 30.000 visitors a month, 50 articles and more than 100 video reports made, they are a fresh breeze through the foggy and dull landscape of ‘doing good’ sites.
